“Support for the journey”
Stephanie's advice has been invaluable, and she really cares. As Nelly has grown, we've had follow-on sessions too, to build more recall skills and strengthen our connection with Nelly while off-lead. We've all developed a great bond with our lovely Nelly.

FAQs
-
Yes, all dogs are pups to me, it’s a light that shines through in their eyes. In South Africa where I grew up, one the 11 official languages, Afrikaans, uses a diminutive form of words to express affection. So, if you hear me call your dog a puppy, don’t be alarmed. It’s just a term of endearment.
-
You’re the key! Our one-to-one training sessions will involve me coaching you on training skills. I’ll show you how, and then you’ll have a chance to practise, so I can give lots of feedback and tips. Then it’s over to you, to work on some daily training and grow your bond as you practise your communication skills.
It’s always great if other family members can join some of our sessions too, because consistency is vital in training.

Whilst I cannot guarantee specific results, my training programmes are designed to help you achieve positive changes in partnership with your dog.
A key principle in all training is breaking up challenges into small successful steps. I’ll help you set goals and give you the support and guidance you need, to help you and your dog succeed.
-
Ethical training practices prioritise positive reinforcement techniques. This means our focus will be on encouraging, recognising and rewarding desired behaviours. Scientifically, this is the best approach to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment for your dog and most supportive of long-term behaviour change.

It depends what the issue is. Get in touch to discuss your dog’s needs and I’ll let you know whether I can help or I can point out where to get specialised advice. If challenging behaviours are highly charged or entrenched and significantly impacting yours or your dog’s lifestyle, it can be important to start with a behaviourist.
